Rating Systems

We developed a few rating systems for movies designed to help people know what is of interest to them.

The categories are: GORE FACTOR, ACTING, VISUALS, and WATCHABILITY. We provided some context about ratings too for fun.

GORE FACTOR (from goriest to no gore at all)

  1. Bring a poncho.

  2. Did Tom Savini make this?

  3. Gory, but earned.

  4. No broken bones.

  5. That’s definitely horse lube.

  6. No gore at all.

Acting (from best to terrible but enjoyable)

  1. Daniel Day Lewis

  2. Meryl Streep

  3. Paul Giamatti

  4. Jesse Eisenberg

  5. Cameron Diaz with an Irish accent

  6. Tommy Wiseau

Visuals (from visually stunning to what even am I watching)

  1. Midsommar

  2. Blade Runner

  3. Avatar

  4. Food Fight

  5. The film you made in middle school

Watchability

  1. Even your grandma will watch this.

  2. Can’t take my eyes off of this.

  3. Good for an afternoon movies.

  4. Amazing if you have 3 hours to spare.

  5. I fell asleep, woke up, and Jeff Bridges was a robot.

  6. Turned it off after 10 minutes, aka Boyhood.

And of course, we’ll be giving every movie our ratings. These are more guidelines rather than rules….
