Episode 20: Rated M for Manbuns and Media Mayhem AKA NIGHTCRAWLER

This week, Brit and Katie discuss the 2014 horror-thriller-dark comedy NIGHTCRAWLER. The film stars Jake Gyllenhaal and is the directing debut of Dan GIlroy.

Nightcrawler is a 2014 thriller written and directed by Dan Gilroy that follows the journey of hungry con-man Lou Bloom who discovers his dream career as a “nightcrawler”: videographers who hunt police scanners for the chance at filming the real-life horror of car accidents, armed robberies, and triple homicides for the nightly news. Fueled by the chance for a paycheck and fame and inspired by the underbelly of Los Angeles, Lou climbs his way to the top by the skin of his teeth, bringing along with him his unsuspecting assistant Rick and the cut throat and cunning new director Nina. But when he starts to cross the line between cameraman and criminal, will his sheer determination consume those around him?
